The last couple of years have been extremely testing in the financial world, and AIB has suffered as much as anybody else, yet (recent events allowing) the worst is probably over.
AIB has had a substantial capital investment from the Irish Government, and as a result we are now amongst the strongest capitalised banks in Europe.
AIB has also undertaken a review of its business activities worldwide, and has decided to focus on its core strengths, as such, we have decided to sell our Trust Company to Capita Fiduciary Group. The fiduciary services were regarded as a non core business and this move will allow us to concentrate on our private and corporate banking services, where we are known for our high levels of customer service and relationship driven approach.
